Mark 4:25 – January 27, 2022

To the one who has, more will be given; from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Mark 4:25 NABRE

Jesus speaks about His coming into the world. He begins by asking if a lamp comes only to be hidden under a basket, a rhetorical question whose answer is of course not. Jesus is that lamp, who has come into the world to bring His light of revelation. He says what was hidden, the mystery of the kingdom of God, is now made know by Him. The mystery of the kingdom of God was once hidden but now with Jesus message and resurrection the kingdom is made known. It would be senseless to have this bright light and keep it hidden. Jesus goes on to say if you have ears you should hear, and those who can hear should carefully consider what they are hearing. In other words in discovering the light of Jesus in some way then there is no good that will come by denying or hiding it from yourself again. Rather anyone who has been given the message of the kingdom and responds to Jesus with openness and cooperation will be given more and enter more deeply into a life formed by Jesus. But those who have been introduced to this message but do not cooperate even their small amount of grace and knowledge of the kingdom will be taken away. Jesus wants us all to enter fully into the light, and be fully transformed. If we decide it is not for us then Jesus will not force the issue, in fact any grace, or what little understanding may have been gifted will no longer be coaxing you to do more.

Jesus wants us to choose the kingdom of God. When we receive an invitation and begin to journey toward the kingdom more and more will entice us to continue. Eventually we will be fully transformed when face to face with Jesus and immersed in the kingdom.

Have you seen the light of Christ? Do you want more light?

Jesus wants us to choose the kingdom of God. When we receive an invitation and begin to journey toward the kingdom more will entice us to continue. Eventually we'll be fully transformed and face to face with Jesus, immersed in the kingdom. Click To Tweet
