John 10:30 – May 8, 2022

The Father and I are one. John 10:30 NABRE

Jesus is speaking in the temple and is challenged by the Jews to speak plainly about coming from God. Jesus’ response; I have told you but you do not believe me. Jesus does works in His Father’s name and this work is testimony from the Father about Jesus. He speaks about those who have come to Him and believe in Him being granted this invitation by the Father. They will be with Him forever and no one can change them or take them away. Finally, Jesus says it is all from the Father, Father and I are one. This is the concluding message Jesus shares with those who do not believe. It is a message that speaks to the purpose of His life. Jesus wants us to know being with God is being completely united to God. This is possible when we turn over all of our life to God, as Jesus has done, and follow the will of God completely. God is love and to be fully immersed in love we must love. The purity of God’s love is so extreme that in order to be united with God we too must be pure love. This is not an easy task. Jesus’ entire life is aiming toward this pure love, so He can say the Father and I are one. Jesus is immersed in pure love and becomes pure love himself. This is what awaits us when we walk toward pure Love.

To become pure love, we must think and do what is best for others. We don’t want any attachment which can corrupt or influence us, clinging to ownership is distraction. We want to let go of everything, have no clinging whatsoever and then we can find a way to love purely. It is when we are not influenced by our own desires, personal addictions and short term joys we are free to live completely out of our love and become one with the Father, purest Love.

What do you cling to? Are you the owner of stuff, processes, habits?

It is when we are not influenced by our own desires, personal addictions and short term joys we are free to live completely out of our love and become one with the Father, purest Love. Click To Tweet
