Jesus speaks about being the way to the Father, saying He is in the Father and the Father is in Him. Seeing Jesus, the disciples have seen the Father, and when we meet Jesus, we meet the Father. Jesus says some very mystical things to His disciples, for example; all He says comes from the Father, all He does comes from the Father, believing in Him we can do the same things He does and asking in His name He will do it, which glorifies the Father. In the secular world if someone called on their daddy so much they might be told to grow up. Jesus remains in compete unity and harmony with His Father and wanting the same for us. Doing God’s will is best for ourselves and the world. God knows the world needs our help and while we can give to charity, pray for peace, reach out to help someone in need, we can do so much more with the power of God animating our actions. God can make actions into universal actions; looking at the life of Jesus we understand this truth. Jesus a simple Nazarene from over two thousand years ago has made a huge impact on the world and we read he is united with the Father. God is a being that has all power and brings all good into our lives and those we impact.
We can say the same as Jesus, we are united with the Father, we speak the words of the Father, all we do comes from the Father. We have to turn everything over to God who is within us. Paul writes, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16) Jesus hasn’t come to say look how great I am but so we would know our greatness.
