Paul writing to the community in Rome speaks about God who has adopted all of us as children. God is a Father who loves His children and will do anything for them. Paul also tells us there is nothing we could do or anyone else could do, that would stop God from loving us. It is difficult for us to understand how God, the creator of the universe would find us so important and significant as to make everything about us. The creation story tells how God uses his creative power and imagination to fill the world with plant life, animal life and an environment that has kept humanity occupied and joyful since the beginning of creation. The universe is humanity’s playground, discovery place and life environment. God so loves humanity that everything created is done with us in mind. How we use it, and take care of it has been up to us and depends on us. God as Father and Creator has taken incredible care to demonstrate His capacity to think about us more than anything else in the universe. Through history God remained present and always available to help and provide for us in any way we would ask. Even when we didn’t ask or could imagine, God devised a salvation plan where Jesus, His Son dies to prove how much we are loved.
Anyone who is a father, like me, knows that our children are everything to us. I was blessed one time to hear my daughter say to me, “I think no matter what I would do you would still love me.” This is how God feels about us. No matter what we would do, God is right there ready to hold us and forgive us if needed.
