Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8 NABRE
The Letter to the Hebrews is considered more a homily to be spoken than a letter to be read. Chapter thirteen closes the letter and is used to encourage us to offer worship pleasing to God. The letter is a demonstration that Christ’s sacrifice has qualified us to be priestly people, in others words we too can offer sacrifice. This sacrifice and worship we offer is our whole lives. We do this by offering love, our love for God and love for neighbor. The chapter opens with an exhortation on love, to be hospitable, to be mindful of prisoners, to let the marriage bed be undefiled and be free from honoring money. To reinforce this message we are encouraged to look at church leaders, how they sacrificed for the word of God, how they led their life according to faith. The letter focuses here on Christian leaders, the founders, we can consider Christian leaders we look toward today who inspire faith. These leaders preached Jesus gloried; who is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the redeemer of yesterday, the one enthroned in heaven as God’s son today, and the one who will assist us forever. We should be leaders who bring people to faith, counting on Jesus, as those leaders did who have gone before us. He is always redeemer, next to God, and providing aid for us.
Knowing Christ and believing in Christ you should want others to know and believe. Your life is improved through your relationship with Christ, you must want the same for others. This is sacrificing and showing love. We stand on the shoulders of many great leaders who came before us, including Jesus. Be a leader that offers your experience to others. Lead to a better life.
Do you feel responsible to lead others to Jesus? Are you living in such a way that people ask you where does your joy come from?
We should be leaders who bring people to faith, counting on Jesus, as those leaders did who have gone before us. He is always redeemer, next to God, and providing aid for us.
