It does not concern me in the least that I be judged by you or any human tribunal; I do not even pass judgment on myself; 1 Corinthians 4:3 NABRE
Paul is so committed to a life in God, whom he considers the only judge, that any other judgement does not land. Isn’t this a beautiful approach to life. How often do we take someone’s comments, look at us or even avoidance as a judgement. Additionally people comment; you are too fat, you need new clothing, you should be more compassionate. People are often offering “helpful” suggestions that seem to only create doubt in our own mind. How much of who we are or how we behave is governed by how we think people will react or what they will think of us. And from our point of view how often do we look at or listen to someone and make a judgement? It seems natural for our minds to evaluate and judge everything we see.
Paul lives in such a way he refuses to spend any time on judgement. He knows that the only opinion that matters is more spiritual and understands the intention of Paul’s heart, it is the judgement of love. Love knows only the beauty of a person, love is not influenced by evil thoughts or harsh judgement, love has no limit and never gives or takes offense. Let your judgement be obliterated by love. See others as God sees you and trust with love your judgement will fade and only your beauty and the beauty of others will imbue, as the Creator intended. Don’t judge yourself, give yourself permission to be an imperfect human and know you are doing your best.
Do you often feel judged ? How do you see others?
See others as God sees you and trust with love. Don’t judge yourself, give yourself permission to be an imperfect human and know you are doing your best.
