I love the LORD, who listened to my voice in supplication, Psalms 116:1 NABRE
The psalmist in psalm one-hundred-sixteen is telling the LORD he has nothing but love for Him. The psalmist has been saved from death and it is thanks to the LORD, naturally he is very grateful. The LORD listens to his supplication. It is as if the LORD listening to the pleas of the psalmist humbly asking on his knees, receives them humbly and with supplication. Could it be that God wants to help so much that he too responds begging for us to accept what He has to offer? God wants to give us everything, always. He is a Father that wishes to spoil His children, to respond positively to even our smallest requests. If God has a weakness, it is us. He is the perfect Father, His heart is so big for His children, He would spoil us. Despite all that is happening in creation God receives our voice, our supplication, our love with love. When we have moments of deep need, while deep in prayer, begging with supplication, God listens to our voice, receives our requests and responds as a Father who loves His children only wanting their best. The psalmist gives all glory and praise to God. We must do the same. By acknowledging the good God does we influence others to go to God and ask with supplication, and know the LORD listens to their voice.
We receive when we ask. We should learn to ask with humility, a begging, a child nagging their Father to give what they want. What Father refuses their child, even we humans with all our imperfections know it is through love for our children that we want them to receive. Ask, be persistent, be humble, expect God’s yes, ask with sincere persistence. God wants everything for us, always.
Do you give up asking when you don’t receive an immediate response? Do you give all glory to God when requests are received?
If God has a weakness, it is us. He is the perfect Father, His heart is so big for His children, He would spoil us. Despite all that is happening in creation God receives our voice, our supplication, our love with love.
