See, I am creating new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered nor come to mind. Isaiah 65:17 NABRE
Isaiah in the last part of the book is speaking about the end of times, especially the judgement of God, who will repay people according to their merits, punishing the wicked and rewarding the good. The principal theme is a vision of a happy future: after the Judgement, messianic peace will be established, with a “new heavens and a new earth,” a new people will be born and the nations will make their way to Jerusalem. We get an idea of the new establishment by God, a new heaven and a new earth. As at the creation, God in person will create them, but now they will have a heavenly form, joy and gladness will be unceasing and eternal. We see this same wording in the Revelation of John, they are the opening words of the vision about the definitive and full establishment of the Kingdom of God. “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The former heaven and the former earth had passed away,” (Revelations 21:1) All will be perfect in the glory of heaven, at the time of renewal for all things. At that time the human race along with the entire universe will be re-established in Christ. God’s plan is to bring all things into Christ, and God will dwell among humanity. There will be no more suffering and mourning, all the former things have passed away even the memory of them. We will all share in the glory of the risen Christ.
We will have a world that is established according to God’s original plan and all sin and evil will be no more, they will be swallowed up and no longer remembered. This is the time we look forward to living, when we can walk in the garden with God.
Do you look forward to seeing God face to face? Are you ready for all things to be made new?
We look forward to a time we can walk in the garden with God, the world established according to God's original plan, sin and evil are no more, not even a memory.
