With you I can rush an armed band, with my God to help I can leap a wall. Psalms 18:30 NABRE
Psalm eighteen is attributed to King David and it is a psalm proclaiming God’s deliverance. It has two descriptions of being delivered by the Lord in battles. In the first part the King and his troops are in trouble and God steps in from heaven into the battle to intervene on their behalf. There is a rich description of how God bowed the heavens and came down. Several verses describe God’s actions. Finally delivered they praise and acknowledge God. The second part differs from the first in that God does not intervene personally but prepares them to do battle and win. Afterwards they again praise God. Near the end of the first part the psalmist notes that with God’s help he could defeat an army and he can leap over any wall the enemy is using to protect themselves. Of course the clear message is, with God anything is possible. The psalmist is confident, has faith and acts accordingly. If we know God will intervene for us in any circumstance wouldn’t that change how we approach every circumstance? If you knew God was going to intervene in finding you a job would you interview with much more confidence? Knowing God is going to restore your health, would you act differently? If you know God will mend a broken relationship would you be more open and transparent with the person?
God wants to intervene and will if we have faith. Walk with confidence in any situation where God can help you. Be positive and strong that what you need will be provided. Act according to God’s promise that you are His beloved and He wants everything for you always.
Has God intervened in your life? Do you depend on God for all things? Do you thank God for His answers to your prayers?
Be positive and strong that what you need will be provided. Act according to God’s promise that you are His beloved and He wants everything for you always.
