Jesus is teaching His blessings, things to make people happy, then and now. These teachings from Jesus are guidelines for followers living a Christian life. Jesus wants us to imitate His life, His spirit, to enter into communion with Him. Jesus has crowds following Him. He is always preaching or teaching to a multitude. His miracles and healings attracted people, but he was a different kind of teacher. He did not dress in glory and point to himself as better than others. Jesus’ humility is one of his most attractive qualities. He lived in such a way that people were naturally attracted to Him. Jesus wants us to be the same. We are to live like Jesus and attract others to Jesus. This means we need to live as though a light is shining on us. We must always be ready to be seen, to be kind and generous, to be able to withstand the scrutiny of a none-believer or someone who wishes to interrupt the mission of Jesus. We are a light in the world, just as Jesus is a light. We cannot hide our light nor should we let it become dim. In all we do, morning, noon and night we should live so that Jesus is glorified. We should live so others will recognize that Jesus is alive in us. Our joy and peacefulness will be contagious and others will want to know Jesus too.
You are a witness to the life of Christ, a believer with faith in Jesus message. You are the means to bring the knowledge of God and Jesus to those unfamiliar with them. You may be the only reference to God some people may see. You must be a light leading others to the glory of God. Let your let shine, don’t be afraid of how powerful you may be letting Jesus shine through you.
